Kids change everything

23 Sep 2015 | Under News | Posted by | 0 Comments

Having kids is life changing.

(Don’t worry, it’s not ALL bad…haha!!).

The sleepless nights don’t last forever and the teething comes to an end eventually (I swear my daughter must have 100 teeth at this stage!!)

We spend a fortune on them. Cute outfits. Half of Morthercare & Mama’s & Papa’s stock. Not to mention a buggy that cost about the same as my first car.

And then there’s the ‘nesting’ instinct – we absolutely must have the baby’s bedroom decorated & fully kitted out before they come home from the hospital (even though they won’t sleep in their own bedroom for at least six months).

The thing is… along with the joy, the unconditional love and the sleeplessness (and spending money like it’s going out of style) comes a new responsibility.

This new little person is helpless.

They rely on you for everything.

And, lets face it, that probably won’t change too much for the next 20 or 25 years.

But what would happen if you were no longer there to take care of them?  What would happen if you or your partner died? Difficult question, I know, but think about it.

Obviously, emotionally, it would be heart breaking on those left behind & unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about that.

But at least you can provide for your family financially, so that they don’t have money problems to worry about on top of the emotional turmoil.

The good news is that life insurance can provide a financial life line & it’s is probably cheaper than you think.   (A couple of 30 years old non smokers can get €250,000 cover^ each for less that €30 a month between them).

While we all hope for the best, it’s important to prepare for the worst.  And spending a few quid can make all the difference.
